Weight loss is always going to be hard if you do not commit to it.
If it was easy, everyone would be looking like greek gods, but instead, we're in an obesity crisis!
Now, if you don't have time to go to the gym (but have time to play on your playstation, sit on facebook, scroll through instagram, sit and watch Eastenders etc etc) then you should be following some healthier, lower in calorie nutrition guidelines.
So tip number:
1 - Priorities Exercises... Add going to the gym to your daily / weekly routine
Go to bed 60 minutes earlier & wake up 60 minutes earlier to get to the gym. These days, there is plenty of 24/7 gyms based in our areas, it's one of the fastest growing fitness trends!
"But i need my sleep, i can't go bed earlier"

These are the type of people that will be moaning in the summer that they want to lose weight!
2 - Maintain A Calorie Deficit... Regardless of if you can get to the gym or not, a calorie deficit is needed to lose weight.
A calorie deficit is the most fundamental thing thats needed in order to lose weight. It can still be achieved if you do not go to the gym by following better nutrition principles, controlling your portion sizes or even making some simple swaps!
For example swapping full fat milk for semi skimmed = Reduction in calories.
3 - Manipulate What You have!... Walk more, lunch breaks, talk a walk around town, walk to a sandwich shop & pick up a salad, sandwich etc.
Do a workout from home 30 minute HIIT training session in your living room, garden, kitchen, wherever!
