Habit Hacking!

Today, we're going to break down Habit Hacking & how to create new habits.

 

Habits are small daily goals that help us achieve day to day objectives

 

Habits may be the fundamental thing that will help you achieve your goal or that is also destructing your results.

 

Bad habits are easy to pick up, Smoking is a prime example, easy to pick up, difficult to budge!

 

Habits need to be "Triggered"

 

On a daily basis, we perform different tasks

 

Lets take brushing your teeth as an example

 

If you have a goal of drinking a pint of water in the morning but you keep forgetting...

Try putting a sticky note by your toothbrush to remind you to drink a pint of water when you get downstairs

 

What this will do is become a "Trigger"

 

You will start to resinate brushing your teeth with drinking water. With consistency and triggers, you'll be able to remove the sticky notes and perform these tasks on a daily basis.

 

Daily tasks that you perform also already have triggers...

 

Alarm clock wake up -> Trigger

 

Get in the shower -> Trigger

 

Brush your teeth -> Trigger

 

Get dressed -> Trigger

 

Turn on TV -> Trigger

 

Grab your keys -> Trigger

 

When you start to perform these things differently, it feels alien right?

 

Hence the Triggers!
